Dear Mother,
I’m starting to think you were right about the states. Ever since I started staying here, it’s been one incident after another. Let me tell you, it’s been chaotic and I’ll tell you why.
First, if you recall, there was the incident at Redwater. I’ve only known this new group for only a short while and already we’re fighting a beast that I can only compare to a dragon. Whether or not it was one thing is certain, the beast had the same abilities and appearance of one. I still wish we could’ve studied it before taking it down, but we were on a rush job.
Then there was the train massacre on the way from Galveston to Houston. We were supposed to bring a few relics, but we ended up getting ambushed by bandits. The officers and civilians died, the Sheriff turned out to be Stirge’s evil sister in disguise, the bandits and Stirge’s sister ran off with the relic, the train crashed in a chasm, and we had to travel for 3 days towards Houston, sighting the appearance of a “Wendigo” along the way. I’m sure that’s gonna come back to bite us, figuratively and literally.
Not to mention that Houston has not been an ideal place for me. I got thrown out of a bar after my first time getting drunk because I spilled some expensive alchohol on the bartender. I’m also on bad terms with one of the marshalls of the town because of my drunken stupor. Lastly, I got turned down after trying to charm a merchant. Honestly, I think I have the worst luck.
Despite all that though, I’ve actually been having a lot of fun. I probably would’ve never experienced any of this if I hadn’t decided to go off to the states. Well I have to go now, we’re trapped in a strange dimensional nightmare house and we gotta find a way out. Oh did I forget to mention that, silly me. I’ll tell you more if we survive this.
Sincerely,
Theodore
P.S. Your little pup misses you.
